Be Strong in the Lord

Psalm 27 : 13 – 14, I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! - NKJV Galatians 6 : 9, And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. - NKJV As we witness the signs of the last days coming to pass, it is vital that we guard our hearts against weariness. As a pastor, I come in contact with a lot of Christians who tell me how difficult life is for them and their families. It isn’t surprising that believers from all walks of life are feeling the pressures of spiritual attacks against them.   The Lord teaches us in Ephesians 6 that we aren’t warring against other people. The warfare that we are standing against is spiritual. We also know from Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 24 that conflicts and betrayal will intensify in the days preceding His return to Earth.

Jesus Revealed the Truth to Israel

Colossians 2 : 14 – 15, Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. - NKJV Acts 1 : 1 – 3, The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. - NKJV The chief priest and elders of Israel devised a plan to have Jesus crucified because He was a threat to their power and influence. Jesus declared the truth and set people free from bondages and disease. After the leaders carried out a mock trial and found Him guilty

Addressing the Need to Prove Ourselves

Luke 4 : 3 – 4, And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'" - NKJV Long before Satan tempted Jesus while He was in the wilderness, there have been bullies. Bullies seem to enjoy belittling people who try to do the right thing in their lives. We know from scripture that Jesus didn’t give into Satan’s manipulative taunts.   How are we to defeat Satan and bullies who want to intimidate us as Christians into doing what they demand? First of all, we have to know that we are loved by the Heavenly Father. Jesus knew His true identity because He knew where He dwelled before coming to earth. Just because someone doesn’t know, respect, or like us doesn’t mean that we have to prove ourselves to them. Even so, we must give an answer to those who come against us so that we are able to silence them as Jesus

Heal Our Land

2 Chronicles 7 : 12 – 14, Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: "I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. –NKJV If there’s one thing t hat all humans have in common it’s that we all make mistakes. At times, it seems the best we can do in our attempt to do well is to fall short. Since we’re all human and have faults, isn’t it reassuring to know that God is there to help us overcome our weaknesses? As you read the scripture above, you may have noticed that God mentioned shutting up heaven, which could cause droughts on earth. He also talked about sending locusts to devour the land and pestilenc
